In Sardinia, the paradise of whales!!!

Even the whales like the sea of Sardinia. The researchers say the Leviathan of the Onlus, an organization for the study and conservation of marine mammals, which by May 2009 will again be engaged in monitoring of cetaceans in the Central Tyrrhenian Sea. During the sighting of 2007 and 2008 were cross balenottere several groups within a broad channel between 20 and 25 miles, which is located off the eastern coast of Sardinia. Many of the specimens were sighted pairs consisting of mother and child. This confirms the presence of a preferred corridor for the migration of this species (including the Sanctuary of Cetaceans in Northern Ireland and the Channel of Sicily to the south), already identified by the first observations of the past decade. The corridor, about 20 miles wide is located off the Sardinian coast. The campaign wants this to continue to monitor and verify the previous results, that compared to the 90s show an increase in frequency by about 10% for Stenella of 30% for the Bottlenose Dolphin and approximately 200% for the whale.
